Hali Alspach is a New York-based composer/lyricist and producer. She was born in California and raised in Ashland, Oregon on a healthy diet of classical piano, Sondheim, and the Shakespeare canon. Her music has been performed at 54 Below, Joe's Pub, The Laurie Beechman Theatre, and Illinois Weslyan University.   

She received a BM in Music Composition from University of the Pacific, where she was a member of and music directed for Theta Alpha Phi and Sigma Alpha Iota. In 2012, she moved to New York to attend the Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program at NYU, where she received a MFA in Musical Theatre Writing. 

Hali has studied music composition with Todd Barton (Resident Composer Emeritus for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival) and New York based composers Ryan Scott Oliver, Michael John LaChiusa, Randall Eng, Mel Marvin, and Fred Carl.

She has written music for two full length musicals (Frankie Silver - words by Rachel Kunstadt, Light Up - book/lyrics by Joe York) and music & lyrics for two song cycles (Secrets and Songs for Insomniacs).  Currently, she is a first year lyricist at the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop.
